REVAMP was started by Jen Fletcher and Cat Weightman in 2008. They were inspired by SCRAP in San Francisco and were spurred by a desire to support artists and art teachers in their community AND reduce the amount of reusable creative materials headed to the landfill. They began their project in Jen’s basement and then eventually moved into a donated storage unit, where they made supplies available mostly to art teachers and artists.

In 2025 REVAMP started an exciting new chapter with Tuolumne County Arts and the Sierra Jobs First grant, opening and expanding their brick and mortar shop at 21 N. Washington St. in Sonora, CA. Now more accessible than ever, REVAMP is open to the public 5 days a week and online 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week!

  • Educators, artists, parents, and makers can purchase affordable and unique materials while diverting waste from local landfills.
  • REVAMP gives the local creative community access to inexpensive, quality materials in a post-JoAnn’s world.
  • Households, businesses, and manufacturers have a place to donate unwanted material (that otherwise gets dumped).
  • Our shop creates green collar jobs and volunteer opportunities and supports grassroots economic development.
